Thermal & XC Lite Course

The original Corryong  thermal & XC training since 2017

The Flying arena of Mt Elliott offers great flying along the western foothills of the Snowy mountains, as well as flat land flying in the valleys.

The course will run from 28/12/2024 to 03/01/2025, giving us 7 days of flying.  The Course begins with the focus on thermalling skills and coring effectively, keeping the glider balanced in flight. This then moves into the XC light stage, flying XC tasks around the mountains with our guiding team.

Included is theory and presentations on thermalling, XC decision making, instrument use, equipment maintenance + harness setup, weather and XC briefs and post flight analysis.

We will aim for 2 flights/day with the morning flight focusing on pilot/glider performance and the afternoon flight being an XC flight/task around the mountains and Valleys.

There will also be tandems available for those wishing to thermal/XC in the tandem for more 1 on 1 coaching and instruction.

NSW pilots can claim $150 back from the NSWHPA under their Pilot Skill Progression program.
